Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust at the cutting edge

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is leading the way in early pregnancy research, thanks to an £11,800 donation from Westfield Health.

The Trust has purchased a state-of-the-art 4D Endocavity Probe with the donation from Westfield. The equipment, which has been installed at the Queen’s Medical Centre campus, will allow the Trust to diagnose complications in early pregnancy such as blood flow and limb problems, which can now be identified within 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Dr George Bugg, Consultant Obstetrician Subspecialist in Feto-Maternal Medicine at the Trust, said: "We are probably one of a few hospitals in the country with this pioneering new equipment. This will be great for improving our facilities. We are very grateful to Westfield Health for their generous donation."

Westfield Health Chairman Graham Moore said: "We are delighted to donate the money to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The Trust is at the cutting edge of foetal and maternal technology and we hope this donation will help it to remain at the forefront of the diagnosis of early pregnancy complications."
